Program Description

The objective of this program is to provide comprehensive training in Networking, its Operating Systems and supporting tools. Students will be taught to Design, Implement, Maintain, and Support Information Systems in a wide range of computing environments using the Microsoftâ

Windows 7 Professional and Windows Server 2008, Cisco Systems Routers and Switches and Sun Microsystems Solaris Operating Systems.

 

Certifications

Student who successfully complete their program will be eligible to test for the following certifications: CompTIA® A+, Network+ and Security+, Microsoft® Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft® Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) specializing in Network Security, Cisco® Certified Network Associates (CCNA), and UNIX Solaris® Systems Administrator Certification.

 

Admission Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or GED.

2. Students without a High School Diploma or GED must pass Basic Skills Test.

3. All applicants must successfully pass an Aptitude and Assessment Test.

 

Course Content

 NES100 Introduction to Computers for Beginners

(12 Instruction Hours)

This course is designed for those students who do not have an understanding of computer basics. Students will learn the basic components and operation of the computer, i.e., how to use the keyboard, mouse, floppy disk, etc. Students will also learn fundamental of computers, computer terminology and concepts of file management.
